Bear River Mental Health participates with the First Judicial District Court in the operation of a mental health court program. The mission of the First District Mental Health Court is to assist eligible mentally ill offenders to achieve long-term personal and community stability through an integrated continuum of mental health care in partnership with criminal justice. The goal of the mental health court is to reduce unnecessary incarceration, promote mental health recovery, and reduce criminal recidivism among mentally ill offenders, and to enhance effective interaction and use of resources among the courts, justice system, and community stakeholders alike.
